MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK NEW YORK

Haven't you always dreamed of going to Fashion Week? That's my ultimate goal, to go to Fashion Week. It seems so exciting and fun to attend because of the fast-pace and, of course, the clothes! Of course I'd never sit front row (but a girl can hope!), but if I got a job in the industry I wouldn't mind sitting so far back that I could barley see the models! It would be totally worth it to just say to people that I'm attending the world famous Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week!!! I could see all my favorite models like Karlie Kloss, Frida Gustavsson, Ali Stephens, Katie Fogarty, and Chanel Iman. I could see my favorite writers from Teen Vogue like Jane Keltner de Valle, Eva Chen, and Andrew Bevan! Ahhh...Fashion Week.

Here's a clip I found on YouTube of the Tommy Hilfiger Spring/Summer 2011 show. I love the colors and the whole collection looks very preppy and summer-y. And guess who's modeling? Karlie Kloss! I didn't even know she would be in it when I started watching the video, so I was excited to see she was part of such a great show. The runway set up is really cool, too. It seems like it's supposed to go from sunrise, to midday, to sunset. It's different than the usual black runway. I also liked how you can see what goes on behind the scenes at the start of all the videos. The shoes and outfit at :45 is really cute; I like the blue and navy paired together. Jourdan Dunn's sparkly navy shorts at 1:08 are to die for, and the shoes that I like are also shown again at 1:23. It's definitely worth watching!

We all know that Betsy Johnson is famous for her crazy, bright, and out spoken style, and this Spring 2011 show is just that. The brightly clad models walking the runway don't look like your average models. Their walks don't include the typical hand on the hip or solemn stare, but fierce stomps and wild poses. The models look like they're having a lot of fun...not that models in other shows aren't having fun, but you can actually tell that they're having fun. The black dress at 1:19 is a little too crazy for me, because if you wore that somewhere, no one could get close enough to talk to you! The pink and red dress at 1:47 is ah-dorable! I love how flowy it is...hmmm, maybe I can keep that in mind for Homecoming next year! The sheer and lace trends have been combined into one dress at 1:53. All the fairy tale dresses and the glitter at the end are amazing; my favorite one is the colorful dress at 2:17.
